Vin Diesel Accused Of Molesting, Kissing Former Assistant Without Her Consent In Sexual Battery Lawsuit

Vin Diesel has been accused of sexual battery in a lawsuit filed by his former assistant, Asta Jonasson, who claims that he groped her and forcibly used her hand to masturbate, despite her begging him to stop.

According to the suit, which was obtained by Vanity Fair, the alleged incident took place at the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta in September 2010 while Diesel was filming Fast Five.

At the time, Jonasson — who was hired to organize parties and stand in “close proximity” to the Fast and the Furious star when he was photographed with other women at events without his girlfriend — claims that she was asked to wait in the actor’s suite after he brought hostesses back from the club.

When everyone left, Diesel allegedly grabbed Jonasson’s wrists and pulled her onto the bed. While she asked him to stop and eventually broke free, she claims he approached her again and began to “grope her breasts and kiss her chest.”

“Ms. Jonasson was afraid to more forcibly refuse her supervisor, knowing that getting him out of that room was both crucial to her personal safety and job security,” the suit reads. “But this hope died when Vin Diesel dropped to his knees, pushed Ms. Jonasson’s dress up toward her waist, and molested her body, running his hands over Ms. Jonasson’s upper legs, including her inner thighs.”

When the Guardians of the Galaxy star allegedly went to remove Jonasson’s underwear, she screamed and ran down the hallway. However, he reportedly caught up to her, pinned her against the wall, put her hand on his “erect penis” and proceeded to masturbate, leaving her “terrified,” per VF.

The suit further claims that Jonasson was fired from her job hours after the incident allegedly took place.

Aside from sexual battery, Jonasson, who was only employed by the actor’s One Race company for two weeks, is also suing for discrimination on the bases of sex/gender, intentional infliction of emotional distress, hostile work environment, wrongful termination and retaliation.

Because she signed a nondisclosure agreement upon taking the job, Jonasson was unable to speak out about what happened for years — that is, until the Speak Out Act, which prevents the enforcement of nondisclosure agreements when it comes to sexual assault and harassment. She also credited the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements with inspiring her to “reclaim her agency and justice for the suffering she endured at the hands of Vin Diesel and One Race.”

Decider has reached out to reps for Diesel for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
