Whoopi Goldberg had a strong message on this morning’s episode of The View, calling out lazy Millennials and Gen Zers who have a problem getting up and working for a better life.

According to research shared in this morning’s Hot Topics segment, the younger generations have a “much different view” of the American Dream than past generations.

“Data shows that soaring inflation, student debt and limited room for advancement in the workplace has made them feel that milestones like affording a home, starting a family, [and] excelling within the corporate structure are out of reach,” Goldberg explained.

While the EGOT recipient claimed every generation feels this way at some point, Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that her fellow Millennials have gone through a “housing crisis,” “financial crisis,” “9/11,” and have been “at war” for practically their entire lives.

However, Goldberg had a hard time feeling sorry for those who don’t want to work as hard as their parents did in order to obtain luxuries like a house or financial security.

“Every generation comes and wants to do better than their parents did. Every generation,” she said. “But I’m sorry. If you only want to work four hours, it’s gonna be harder for you to get a house.”

She added, “I feel for everybody that feels this but I’m sorry, we busted our behinds. We had to bust our behinds because we didn’t have the option of going back.”

When Griffin reminded Goldberg that her generation is currently dealing with the housing crisis, the moderator snapped, “Listen! We had all kinds of stuff.” Still, the former White House staffer insisted that Millennials are the first generation that’s statistically more likely to do “worse” than their parents.

“You know what? That’s what they said to us as well,” Goldberg fired back. “Every generation is told, ‘You’re gonna do worse than your parents.’ And you know what? People pick it up and they do what they do and they raise themselves and this is what you gotta do. It’s called being a good citizen.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
