When Does ‘Rebel Moon Part 2’ Come Out? What We Know About the ‘Rebel Moon’ Sequel

Don’t expect the new Zack Snyder movie, Rebel Moon—which began streaming on Netflix today—to wrap up the plot in a neat bow. As the full title, Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, suggests, this is just the first part of a possibly three-film series. You better believe this movie ends on a cliffhanger that leaves viewers chomping at the bit for part two.

But wait, there’s more. According to a New York Times report from April, Netflix plans to make Rebel Moon a trilogy. Snyder is reportedly already writing the script for the third movie. That said, the existence of a third film may depend on how well the first movie does for the streamer.

But don’t worry, because there will definitely be a second film. And you won’t have to wait long for the Rebel Moon sequel. Part 2 was filmed in tandem with Part 1 in 2022, which means the film is already in post-production and even has an official release date. The Rebel Moon Part 2 release date is April 19, 2024. The full title is Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, it’s already been filmed, and it will be released on Netflix.

Who is in the Rebel Moon Part 2 cast?

There have been no official announcements as to who will return for Rebel Moon Part 2, and we won’t spoil who dies and who lives in the first movie. The cast for the first movie includes Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Jena Malone, Fra Fee, Ed Skrein, and Anthony Hopkins. That said, we at least know that Boutella will return as Kora, as seen in the only officially release image from Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver below.

What is the Rebel Moon Part 2 plot?

Again, we don’t know much about the Rebel Moon Part 2 plot. Based on the final scene of the first movie, it will feature the evil Motherworld chasing down our hero, Kora. And, hopefully, Part 2 will feature a lot more of Jimmy the robot, voiced by Anthony Hopkins. I can’t get enough of that guy!
