Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos began their final Live with Kelly and Mark show of 2023 by delving into a TikTok dating tip.

“When you were dating, did you have a method to entice?” Consuelos asked his wife and co-host.

While Ripa claimed he likely “know[s] the answer to that” having dated her prior to their nearly 27-year-long marriage, Consuelos proceeded to bring up “the triangle method,” which has gone viral on “the TikTok” as a fool-proof way to make someone fall for you.

“You first stare into the person’s left eye, and then you go over to their right eye, and then you look at their lips,” he explained. “And then you go back to the left eye.”

Ripa chimed in, “That would give me the creeps. I would run away.”

Consuelos revealed that he “practiced backstage” with Live EP Michael Gelman, who quipped from offstage that they’re now “engaged.”

Nonetheless, Consuelos admitted that the TikTok-approved method was “very creepy and weird.”

The two tried it out on each other, leading Consuelos to ultimately tell Ripa, “Woah, you just did something to me!”

After Ripa said that she’s both near-sighted and far-sighted, Consuelos claimed that Ripa “has this thing, where you look into her eyes.”

“And she just does that thing, and it’s very sexy,” he added.

While Ripa argued that she’s “not doing anything,” Consuelos clarified, “Turns out, she just has bad eyesight!”

Consuelos ultimately pleaded with Gen Z-ers and millennials to look elsewhere for dating advice.

“If you’re looking to TikTok for dating advice, stop it!” he shared. “Put the phone down! Put the phone down! Ask somebody out on a date to go get a milkshake!”

While Gelman suggested “a coffee” or “a matcha” instead, Consuelos joked, “Meet them at church like I did,” and eventually offered up the humorous suggestion of getting “an egg cream.”

“What am I, back on Riverdale?” he said. “What is this?”

After Ripa finally contained her laughter, she responded, “Apparently you’re going back to 1950,” to which Consuelos exclaimed, “That’s when it was great!”
