Wheel of Fortune vet Pat Sajak had a major blunder with his cue cards during the first episode of 2024.

While introducing contestant Jason Smith, Sajak asked, “Married man?”

Smith seemed surprised as he answered, “No, I’m single, actually.”

Sajak appeared to realize the mistake he made with his cue cards and promptly apologized. “You know, I’m sorry,” he said as he shuffled through his cards. “I just messed up a card, hold on.”

He then tried to lighten the mood by jokingly asking Smith, “So, you’re a circus acrobat, I see?”

Sajak later recovered and continued introducing Smith, who is a psychiatric nurse practitioner from Paris, Texas, and single father of two adopted boys.

The goof seemed to set Smith on the wrong path as he only walked away with $1,000 in earnings.

The longtime game show host has become known for teasing contestants and cracking jokes on air.

The game show host has been known to prank, mock, and shut down his contestants on national television.

Just recently, Sajak clapped back at a contestant who criticized a puzzle she failed to solve.

When the puzzle was revealed to be “Voicing Our Opinion,” contestant Jill Ashe commented, ”What kind of puzzle is that?”

Sajak, who was in the middle of opening her prize envelope to reveal the prize amount she missed out on, took a second to comment, “It’s a puzzle you didn’t solve.” Yikes!
