Lovebirds Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes revealed they would “never” return to working in daytime television like they did on Good Morning America before they were ousted in 2023.

On a recent episode of their podcast, titled Amy & T.J., Robach declared that she’s been “living authentically” since leaving the show, where she and Holmes worked as co-hosts on GMA3: What You Need To Know.

“I learned that I never want to go back to the grind of morning television,” she said. “And I learned that I don’t miss the job, I miss the people.”

Holmes appeared to agree, adding, “I’m with you there.”

Robach continued, “It’s never too late to start again, to start over.”

Holmes and Robach have spoken candidly on the podcast about the backlash they faced when their relationship went public in 2022.

During a recent episode, the couple claimed that they were prepared to release statements addressing the rumors of infidelity but they “got the brakes put on that” because they were trying to keep their jobs at ABC.

Robach explained that they had “press releases ready to go.”

“Even through that initial first couple of days — even when we were temporarily taken off the air to let things cool down — we were still hopeful for that entire six weeks, eight weeks that we would be going back to work,” she said.

The couple also confirmed on their podcast that they were both separated from their spouses by the time they began seeing each other.

“We shouldn’t have allowed, [and] I can say that in hindsight, for folks to find out about our relationship before they found out about our divorces,” Holmes said. “If people would have heard [about the divorces] earlier [then] ‘they’re in a relationship, now they’re dating,’ maybe an eyebrow would have been raised or something, but it wouldn’t have become what it became.”

2023 was not an easy year for the hosts, however. During the premiere episode of their podcast, Robach admitted, “There were days when I wanted to die.”

But the couple say they are now “happier than ever” and “planning a life together.”
