Is Michael Strahan Still On ‘Good Morning America?’ Who Left ‘Good Morning America?’
Sara Haines fought back tears while discussing Michael Strahan, who announced this morning that his 19-year-old daughter Isabella was diagnosed with brain cancer.
On today’s episode of The View, Haines — who co-hosted GMA3 with Strahan from 2018 to 2020 — praised the ex-NFL player and his family for showing strength during a difficult time.
“Isabella is so fierce and she has a twin, Sophia, and they have been fiercely together in this,” Haines said. “Michael, Kayla — his partner — and the two twins, you couldn’t have a stronger, more fierce team behind you. Michael will go to the core of the Earth for the people he loves. And he is right there with her.”
Haines became choked up as she added, “And I love her.”
Earlier today, the father-daughter duo sat down for an emotional interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, where they revealed that Isabella has been undergoing cancer treatment ever since she was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in the fall of 2023.
After getting rushed to the hospital, Isabella was told she had a “fast-growing, four-centimeter tumor” that was the size of a golf ball. One day before her 19th birthday, she had emergency surgery to remove the malignant brain tumor, before later undergoing several rounds of radiation and learning to walk again. Now, she is set to start chemotherapy next month.
“[There was] something Sophia said to me, I think at the start of this all — she said, ‘You have to keep living just because this is happening,'” Isabella recalled as she became emotional.
Strahan quickly jumped in, telling his daughter, “She’s right. And you’ve been doing that. You keep on living, Isabella. You’re inspiring all of us every single day we’re around you. We love you. We’re here for you. And you got this.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
