Cynthia Bailey‘s ex-husband Peter Thomas was busted by cops for driving under the influence, according to TMZ. The outlet reports that the former Real Housewives of Atlanta husband was allegedly weaving between lanes and ran a red light before he was pulled over and arrested.

Police said they detected “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” and claimed Thomas allegedly had “watery, glassy, and bloodshot eyes” at the time he was pulled over, per TMZ. While he initially agreed to take a blood test, he reportedly changed his mind by the time he arrived at the hospital. And because of his blood pressure issues, he was denied entry to Cobb Adult Detention Center and instead left at the medical facility.

Cops later obtained a warrant for Thomas’ arrest and booked him on Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 9) in Cobb County, GA. According to Page Six, he was released later that same day on a $3,000 bail.

Aside from being charged with driving under the influence, Thomas was also cited for “driving without a license, not having proof of insurance, failure to maintain lane, expired/no tag and a violation of traffic control device,” the outlet reports.

A judge later forbade Thomas from drinking alcohol and consuming marijuana. He must also adhere to random drug and alcohol tests and is not allowed to own a firearm.

This isn’t the first time Thomas has gotten in trouble with the law. In 2019, he was arrested for allegedly writing fraudulent checks, though he maintained his innocence, claiming he wrote a check when his “checking account was compromised.” He also claimed he was unaware that there was an arrest warrant out for him.

“Six days I spent in jail,” he said in an Instagram video at the time. “[The] ‘celebrity status’ I had made them put me around no one for six days. I don’t wish that on anyone, but I had a lot of time to think, and I had a lot of time to take medication because I’m claustrophobic.”

Thomas first gained fame when he joined Bailey on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 3 back in 2010. The two became engaged and got married on the show, before ultimately announcing their separation in 2016.
