Despite Jason Sudeikis’ beloved Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso not winning big at the 2024 Emmys on Jan. 15, the co-creator, writer, and star of the series still had one heck of a night.

The actor had the honor of sitting front row next to his gorgeous co-star Hannah Waddingham! He watched his legendary uncle George Wendt reunite onstage with the cast of Cheers! He hung out with the great Harrison Ford at Apple TV+’s afterparty! And before the night ended, he even liked a bunch of Ted Lasso hate tweets on Twitt — er, I mean X!

As a seasoned Sudeikis social media reporter, I’ve previously written about the celebrity’s unique use of the platform’s “Like” feature. For those who don’t know, the 48-year-old father of two frequently favorites tweets that make him feel good — just like the rest of us — but he’s also quick to embrace the haters, regularly smashing the heart button on harsh criticisms of himself and his show.

It’s likely that Sudeikis bravely and boldly acknowledges the negativity to gently troll his trolls, but regardless of his reasoning, we know that this man took a hardcore scroll through his mentions in wake of Ted Lasso‘s surprising Emmy shut out. While the series (which may or may not have completely concluded — we still don’t know!) did win two Creative Arts Emmys in 2023, Sudeikis didn’t win lead actor, both Brett Goldstein and Phil Dunster missed out on supporting actor, and both Juno Temple and Hannah Waddingham lost supporting actress. Instead, The Bear swept the comedy categories, leaving Sudeikis open to extra Twitter vitriol.

If his likes tell us anything, it’s that he’s well aware of the losses, but he’s not too shaken up about them. He sees your hate, and he meets it with hearts. Behold, a list of tweets Jason Sudeikis liked in the 24 hours following the Emmy Awards, including one that simply reads, “loser”:

Would the Ted Lasso cast and crew have liked to snag another round of Emmys following their third and possibly final season? Of course! But with 61 nominations and 13 Emmys under their belt already, those involved with the popular series know what a crucial role the show has played — both in pop culture and television.

TedBecca shippers may never forgive Sudeikis for Ted Lasso‘s widely-critiqued Season 3 finale, but hey! At least the actor has thick skin and a delightful sense of humor on social media. Never stop liking, Jason. We appreciate you.

Ted Lasso is currently streaming on Apple TV+.
