Ken Jennings has heard Emma Stone‘s wish to compete on Jeopardy!, and he just might be keen on the idea.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos welcomed the cherished trivia game host on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning, where he talked about tomorrow night’s (Jan. 23) “big finals” of Celebrity Jeopardy, where “a million dollars [is] on the line.”

“It’s been a lot of fun,” he shared, with respect to this past season. “I really admire the celebrities for putting themselves out there, because I think people think it’s going to be like the SNL sketch, and it’s gonna be remedial-level Jeopardy! No, this is legit Jeopardy! that we make these stars play, and they are really good sports.”

Consuelos then asked Jennings for his thoughts on Stone, who said she’s constantly applying to compete on the game show.

“And she doesn’t want to be on Celebrity,” Jennings noted. “She wants to be on real, original recipe Jeopardy! And that’s a hard show. We would take her in a heartbeat.”

Ripa asked about the audition process, curious as to if there would be a “fast track that Emma Stone can access.” However, Jennings said that he “think[s] she would have to go through the same tests” as any other prospective contestant.

“Now our viewers, if they want to be on the show, they can try out from home,” he explained. “You can take a test online and do a Zoom audition. We no longer make people go to the mall or to a hotel to audition for the show.”

Stone expressed her desire to “earn [her] stripes” on Jeopardy! — and not its Celebrity counterpart — while appearing on Variety‘s Awards Circuit podcast, claiming that she “appl[ies] every June,” but has yet to be selected.

Nonetheless, Jennings did say that she “might have a leg up” over any ordinary applicant.

“She’s probably pretty good on camera,” he teased.
