It’s been four years since Captain Sandy Yawn fired Hannah Ferrier from Below Deck Mediterranean — but the yacht captain had nothing but kind words to say about her former chief stew.

On Monday night’s (Jan. 22) episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen — or The Clubhouse’s Shady Cucumber, I should say — forced Yawn to name three things she missed about working with Ferrier.

“Aw, Hannah — she’s great,” Yawn said adoringly. “Hannah was always great. She’d come to my cabin. We’d have great conversations.”

While Yawn shared fond memories of working with Ferrier, she couldn’t deny the equally as rough seas they faced in their dynamic, adding, “There was always the challenge, too. So I miss both,” before Cohen clarified, “The push-pull.”

To this day, Ferrier remains Below Deck Med’s longest-running chief stew after starring on the spinoff’s first five seasons. While she and Yawn shared their ups and downs, it wasn’t until bosun Malia White reported Ferrier for having Valium and CBD vape pen in her cabin that she was officially fired in 2020.

The decision to fire Ferrier caused an uproar as fans threatened to boycott the rest of the season. Still, Yawn remained firm in her position.

“I have to follow protocol. That’s why structure’s in place,” she said at the time. “So we have manuals. When you discover drugs on board, this is the course you take.”

She added, “We’re liable. That’s really the bottom line. People smoke pot all over the world. People are prescribed valium … Hannah can’t do Valium and have a job on a boat. That’s not allowed.”

While speaking to Decider following the incident, Ferrier explained that she was taking Valium to ease her anxiety.

“I’ve just been really disappointed because I feel I’m being painted as some sort of drug addict or what have you. Which is just so sad, because there are so many people in the world that suffer from mental illness,” she said. “And it’s 2020. We shouldn’t be making people feel like a lesser for taking medication for mental illness. Or making them feel like they can’t do a job, or they can’t do what normal people can do.”

Despite her abrupt exit, Ferrier has no regrets about her time on the Bravo series. Earlier this month, she shared a Flashback Friday photo from her final season.

“It’s funny so many people ask me if I regret doing the show because of the way it ended in this season,” she captioned the picture on Instagram. “I don’t think I could ever regret doing something that changed my life in the way this show did. And we had some GREAT fun filming.”

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
