We are knee-deep in another reality television boom and Netflix has provided everybody’s latest obsession: The Trust: A Game of Greed.

The new reality show premiered January 10, 2024 and aired over the course of three weeks. Now that the first season has come to an end, many viewers are left wondering if there will be a second season.

The series follows 11 strangers as they are given the opportunity to either evenly split $250,000 or secretly eliminate their housemates and steal funds for themselves.

Each player is put to the test as they are individually brought to a secret location called The Vault and given an offer that would benefit them at the expense of their teammates.

Throughout the first season, there were some shocking eliminations and surprise conflicts, such as real estate mogul Bryce outing himself as a millionaire.

Will there be another season of the popular reality show? Here’s everything we know.

Will There Be A The Trust Season 2 on Netflix?

Sorry, folks! The Trust: A Game of Greed has not yet been renewed by Netflix. But don’t worry as the show is still fresh on the streamer and the head honchos are likely still shifting through the viewership numbers and other data that points to a renewal.

On the plus side, Netflix has invested heavily in reality programming over the past few years and often rewards such shows with multiple seasons. Love Is Blind, Selling Sunset, and The Circle are just a few of the many reality shows that the streamers houses and have expanded on since their debuts.

Now these popular shows tend to get multi-season renewals in a speedy manner, but it took Netflix over a month to to renew Love Is Blind for its second season after its premiere, and nearly two months for Selling Sunset.

If Netflix decides to renew The Trust for a second season, it’s likely to follow the same premise as the first season and see the return of Brooke Baldwin as the host.

The synopsis for the show reads, “In this reality series, strangers compete to share a quarter of a million dollars. Will they split it evenly — or cut each other out to raise their take?”

Decider broke down the ending of Season 1, which saw multiple players taking home money despite the drama and eliminations that occurred in the second half of the season.

If renewed, maybe Netflix will spice things up a bit and propose new challenges for the group of strangers? Or increase the number of games they play? Only time will tell.

The Trust Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
