Timothée Chalamet’s hairstyle is reportedly all the rage right now.

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager discussed the growing trend among young men who are looking to bring back the “’90s long hair,” as Kotb put it. “They want the Timothée look,” she said.

“They want the Brad Pitt, they want the Leo [DiCaprio], they want the [Jonathan Taylor Thomas],” Bush Hager explained, showing photos of the ’90s heartthrobs. Home Improvement, do you remember Home Improvement? That’s what they want.”

But Bush Hager was a bit surprised by the trend.

“Men have short [hair]. If Henry walked in and said he wanted the Timothée, he’d have to put on extensions,” she joked, referring to her husband. “Are men putting on extensions? Because you can’t just ask for that, you have to grow it.”

Kotb agreed, saying, “You have to have long hair. You’re right, people can’t just get it, it’s not like the [Friends character] Rachel [Green] where people just cut it shorter.”

Will the Today hosts be willing to give it a try?

A producer on the show once dared Bush Hager to get a buzzcut after Harry Styles debuted his new hairstyle last fall. Needless to say, Kotb and Bush Hager were not amused.

While looking at photos of Styles’ controversial haircut, Bush Hager commented, “It shows you hair matters, but it doesn’t matter that much.”

Kotb responded, “Well, I think if you look like Harry Styles, it doesn’t matter that much.”

“Exactly, I think if I did it it would be a different story,” Bush Hager said. She then turned to someone off camera and said, “No, Gavin! Did you just hear Gavin yell, ‘Do it?’” She was speaking to senior producer Gavin Shulman, who has been with the show for many years now.

Kotb made sure to back her co-host up. “Gavin, she’s not doing it,” she said.

And that’s what friends are for!
