Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos gave a very real look into their marriage while dishing on household tasks on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning.

After welcoming Bryan Cranston onto the show, Ripa reminded the Breaking Bad star that they had discussed “organization” the last time he appeared on Live.

“Mark loves to organize. I believe you, too, like to organize,” she added.

Consuelos asked Cranston, “Is it just the fridge for you? Cause you talked about that.”

Cranston clarified that when it comes to organizing, he also particular about sorting out the dishwasher.

“We don’t leave it to just the refrigerator,” he enthusiastically explained. “You have to be able to load the dishwasher in an effective way. You don’t want extra space, but you don’t want it too crowded or else the dishes don’t get washed.”

As Consuelos and Cranston further delved into how they align their utensils in the dishwasher, Ripa stared at her husband and co-host, causing Cranston to pause.

“Did we lose you already?” he asked Ripa, who replied, “No, I’m just staring at Mark pretending that he knows where the dishwasher is!”

“It’s that thing that I’m always hovering over, muttering to myself about,” she joked.

Consuelos laughed and defended his dishwashing expertise, arguing that he “lived on [his] own for a long time” and that he “know[s] what a dishwasher is.”

Cranston quipped that Consuelos got “busted,” noting, “when you’re doing a show as a married couple, you can’t get away with things.”

In his defense, Consuelos claimed that the dishwasher is Ripa’s “domain” since she’s allegedly “very particular about it,” even going so far as to mimic her sighing whenever he attempts to touch it. Still, Ripa denied it all.

Thankfully, Cranston eased the silly tension and conceded that he’s like Ripa when it comes to manning the dishwasher in his home, leading Ripa to describe herself and her guest as “dishwasher-compatible.”

Cranston shared, “My wife does all the cooking, so I do all the cleaning. So, she finishes and she makes a wonderful mess in the kitchen. And I actually like it. I feel it’s very cathartic and peaceful to see things getting cleaned up and accomplished.”

Ripa said her dishwashing abilities are a form of her “math skills,” noting that she “would have been [in] advanced geometry” if the class were taught “in terms of how you load a dishwasher.”
