Will Taylor Swift Attend The Super Bowl — Or Join Usher During Halftime Show?

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are a love story for the ages. Now that the Kansas City Chiefs will move on to compete in this year’s Super Bowl, Swifties across the land are speculating whether or not the singer will put on a surprise performance.

As Swift previously told Time, she and Kelce first connected after he “very adorably put [her] on blast” on his podcast back in August 2023. The “Blank Space” songwriter has since attended most of his games, where she’s frequently seen supporting her man from the stadium’s luxury suites. Following his AFC Championship win on Sunday night (Jan. 28), she even made her way onto the field to seal their celebrations with a smooch.

Not only has Swift’s screen time been exciting for fans, the NFL has also reportedly seen its highest ratings since 2015, according to the Wall Street Journal. So everyone’s winning here!

Now that the Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Feb. 11, many can’t help but wonder whether Usher will invite Swift to share the stage for his halftime show — or whether she’ll even make it to the game with her busy Eras Tour schedule.

Will Taylor Swift be at the Super Bowl?

At this point, no one is exactly sure whether Swift will be able to attend the Super Bowl to cheer on Kelce since she’ll spend the first part of her weekend in Tokyo for the next leg of her Eras Tour. However, many have noted that it is completely possible (thanks to her private jet) that she will make it to Las Vegas with plenty of time to spare.

“Tokyo is 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas. The doors open at her concert at 6 p.m. at the Tokyo Dome, a typical Taylor show goes until midnight,” Jenna Bush Hager explained on this morning’s taping of Today With Hoda & Jenna. “If she goes directly to the airport after she’s done with her concert, she hops on that plane of hers, it will be around 7 a.m. Saturday morning in Vegas.”

Has Taylor Swift ever headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

No, Swift has never performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. Why? For one, the singer previously inked a long-term partnership with Coca-Cola — the rival brand to Pepsi, which, for many years, sponsored the halftime show. When Apple Music took over the sponsorship in 2022, TMZ reported that Swift declined the offer to headline as she was busy re-recording her first six albums.

The pop star was reportedly given another opportunity to perform this year, however, her ongoing Eras Tour schedule forced her to turn it down once again.

The Super Bowl airs on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
