Shannen Doherty has shared some positive news amid her ongoing battle with stage four breast cancer. According to the Beverly Hills 90210 star, she recently started a new treatment that she described as a “miracle.”

On the most recent episode of her Let’s Be Clear podcast, Doherty — who sat down with her radiation oncologist, Dr. Amin Mirhadi — offered fans an update on her diagnosis.

“I’m not gonna say what it is, I’m on a new cancer infusion, and after four treatments, we didn’t really see a difference and everybody wanted me to switch, and I just kinda was like, ‘We’re gonna keep going with this and see,'” she began, per Page Six. “And yeah, after the sixth or seventh treatment, we really saw it breaking down the blood-brain barrier.”

She added, “That it’s actually breaking down that blood-brain barrier is actually a miracle of that drug, a miracle of maybe God intervening and saying, ‘I’m gonna give her a break.’ Sometimes you’re looking for miracles in all the wrong places, and they’re right in front of your face.”

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After undergoing a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, she went into remission two years later. However, the disease returned in 2019 — and one year later, she announced that it had become metastatic stage four cancer.

Last year, Doherty revealed that the cancer had spread to her brain and her bones, forcing her to have surgery to remove the tumor from her brain.

“I don’t want to die,” she told People in November 2023. “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better. I’m just not — I’m not done.”

Despite the terrifying diagnosis and learning her now ex-husband was allegedly having an affair shortly before she went into surgery, Doherty has remained in a positive headspace.

“My greatest memory is yet to come,” she told the outlet. “I pray. I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking for too much. It connects me to a higher power and spirituality. My faith is my mantra.”
