Amanda Davies, the daughter of One Life to Live star Erika Slezak, has died. She was 42.

The sad news was confirmed in a statement on Slezak’s website. At this time, no official cause of death has been announced.

“It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Erika’s daughter Amanda Elizabeth Davies who died very suddenly,” the statement reads. “The family is heartbroken and would appreciate privacy at this time.”

Born in 1981, Davies was the daughter of Slezak and Brian Davies, who is a British actor best known for his roles in American Gigolo, The House on Carroll Street and Convoy.

Being the daughter of two actors, it’s no surprise that Davies dipped her toes in the industry. In 2002, she played a teenage version of her real-life mother’s character,  Victoria “Viki” Lord, in flashbacks on the long-running ABC soap opera One Life to Live. She also starred in the 2011 short film The Gift, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Slezak originated her role as Viki in 1971 and remained on the series until its 2012 finale. Throughout her tenure, she won six Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Following the news of Davies’ death, Slezak’s fanbase took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their condolences.

“This just broke my heart. My thoughts are with dear Erika at this time. I know how much she loved her children,” one wrote, while another added, “Oh, my goodness. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain that Erika Slezak and her family are going through right now. May Amanda Davies rest in peace.”

Someone else said, “My heart goes out to Erika and her entire family. Erika is arguably the best actress in the history of daytime drama. We all feel this grief and pray for all those impacted.”

Davies’ passing marks the third One Life to Live alum death in the last couple of months. In early December 2023, Ellen Holly, whose role made history as the first Black American to star in a leading part on daytime television, died in her sleep at 92. Later that same month, Kamar de los Reyes passed away following a brief battle with cancer. He was 56.

Davies is survived by her mother, father and brother Michael.
