The Swans tells the story of Capote betraying “The Original Housewives.” He befriends the group of high society ladies, learns their deepest secrets, then exposes their private lives in an Esquire excerpt from his socially-damning book, Answered Prayers. As the years years pass, we witness the lasting impact Capote’s words had on him and the swans, and his self-destructive demise.
