Kelly Ripa is always keeping Mark Consuelos in check — even when it comes to his “sex icon” expertise … or lack thereof.

While discussing “what makes a perfect plane movie” on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning, Consuelos brought up how you should consider watching “something appropriate” with respect to the person next to you. And he’s not the only host to say so! Drew Barrymore previously offered similar advice on her show.

Consuelos told viewers, “I have tuned in[to a movie], and all of a sudden it gets a little risqué,” as Ripa interjected, “And the nun next to you is upset?”

Consuelos continued, “I feel a little self-conscious that she thinks I’m some type of weirdo.”

Ripa teased, “You think it’s the movie selection that gave it away?”

After Ripa noted that she prefers to avoid films featuring “plane crashes” while flying, Consuelos said that “the most obvious hallmark of a good plane movie is the element of travel.”

“I love that Diane Lane movie, is it Under the Tuscan Sun?” he shared.

He claimed that Ripa “would watch the [film] with [Lane] and Michael Douglas and Olivier Martinez,” referring to the 2002 R-rated erotic and psychological thriller Unfaithful.

“That would get you in trouble,” he declared.

Staring back in disbelief, Ripa corrected her husband and replied, “Richard Gere!”

As Consuelos began apologizing, Ripa exclaimed, “How dare you confuse my sex icons!”

She proceeded to classify the 2002 film as “the greatest piece of cinema ever made,” as she enthusiastically provided her own synopsis.

“Here is a woman who cheats on Richard Gere with Olivier Martinez!” she explained. “That’s the plot! It’s all a win-win! Win-win-win! And she’s conflicted, she doesn’t know who she wants to have sex with that night. It’s all winning for Diane Lane!”

Consuelos chimed in, “And all the guys who get to see Diane Lane, which is great.”

The two agreed that “everybody wins,” as Ripa concluded, “It’s just a winning movie.”
