Tons of new households discovered the 2022 Australian thriller series The Tourist after Netflix added it to their catalogue on February 1, 2024. In less than a week, the show has climbed its way onto the streaming giant’s Top 10 TV Shows in the U.S. list, occupying the No. 2 position.

Starring Jamie Dornan, The Tourist follows a car crash victim who wakes up with amnesia in a hospital and is pressed to figure out his identity after suspecting that someone is trying to kill him.

The show premiered Jan. 1, 2022 on BBC in the United Kingdom, and aired months later on HBO Max in the United States. Amid production for Season 2, Deadline reported that HBO Max removed the show from the platform despite co-producing the first season.

At the same time, it was announced that Netflix would be be the new streaming home for the show in the U.S.

**Will There Be A The Tourist Season 2**?

The Tourist newcomers will be pleased to find out that there will be a second season of the thriller series! The latest season is set to premiere on Feb. 29, 2024 on Netflix, roughly two months after its UK release.

Created by Fleabag producers Harry and Jack Williams, the series follows a man who wakes up in a hospital with amnesia and has no recollection of his troubled past. When he leaves the hospital, he begins to suspect that dangerous people are tracking his every move. With the help of a detective Helen, the man begins to learn more about his identity.

Dornan leads the show as The Man (later known as Elliot) with Danielle Macdonald as Helen. Victoria Haralabidou, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Greg Larsen also star in lead roles.

Per Netflix, the synopsis for The Tourist Season 2 reads, “Elliot and Helen travel to Ireland to find answers about Elliot’s identity, but instead, they are forced to face the dangerous consequences of his past actions.”
