The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei may be a pro at wooing women and handing out roses — but it looks like he needs to brush up on his pop culture knowledge after awkwardly confusing convicted felon Gypsy Rose Blanchard for the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg. But hey, at least he’s cute!

The 28-year-old, who is leading the ongoing season of The Bachelor, made the cringey flub while playing the Betches game “How Online Are You?” The quiz game required him to simply guess the names of famous people and viral trends.

“I do know who this person is!” he confidently said as a photo of Blanchard appeared on the screen. “Is it Ruth? It’s Jinsburg or Ginsburg or something like that. Am I wrong?”

While he was way off with the name, Graziadei was acutely aware of Blanchard’s background.

“I know that she had something happen where she went to jail because of her mom,” he said, before the correct answer was revealed to him. “Ruth Ginsburg? I don’t know what I’m saying.”

Blanchard became an internet icon late last year after she was granted parole and released early from prison for conspiring to murder her mother in 2015.

The internet personality, whose life was dramatized in the 2019 Hulu miniseries The Act, asked her then-boyfriend Nick Godejohn to kill her mother, Dee Dee, in a desperate attempt to escape years of abuse.

For most of her life, Blanchard was subjected to painful and unnecessary surgeries and forced to use a wheelchair as a result of her mother’s Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, which is a mental disorder in which a caregiver exaggerates or makes up their dependent’s illnesses as a way to gain sympathy.

Ginsburg, on the other hand, was the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court. She is known for successfully fighting against gender discrimination until she died in 2020.

So … yeah. They’re not the same person. But nice try, Joey.
