Demi Moore has become the most recent star to be cast in one of Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan‘s latest projects.
According to a press release shared Wednesday (Feb. 7), the actress has signed on to Landman, an upcoming series led by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the latter of whom is the host of the Boomtown podcast that the show is based on.
The show is described as “a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs,” and will be “set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas.”
“Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics,” the show’s synopsis reads, in part.
Moore is portraying the role of Cami, “the wife to one of the most powerful oil men in Texas,” who also is a “friend” of Billy Bob Thornton‘s Tommy Norris.
The cast also features Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie and Paulina Chávez.

Landman, which will ultimately land on Paramount+, has begun production in the Fort Worth area of Texas. The three companies behind its production are MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Showtime/MTV CEO and President Chris McCarthy deemed Moore “an iconic and extraordinary talent.”
“We are thrilled to have her join Billy Bob Thornton and the star-studded cast of Landman, our next epic series from Taylor Sheridan,” he added.
A release date has yet to be announced.
