Netflix brought the romance this Valentine’s Day with an exclusive Bridgerton global fan event full of swoon-worthy goodies, including new photos, an exclusive clip, and Season 3 episode titles. The event kicked off with host Gena-Mour Barrett introducing Bridgerton executive producer Shonda Rhimes, showrunner Jess Brownell, and author Julia Quinn teasing Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan)’s “friends to lovers” romance. Then fans learned what Bridgerton Season 3 would take from Quinn’s novel — like the moment Penelope tends to Colin’s hurt hand — and what could change — namely, the addition of a new suitor for Pen. Most importantly, though Netflix unveiled a new clip where Colin tells Penelope that he misses her friendship while she reveals she heard him scoff he’d never court her at the end of Bridgerton Season 2…

Bridgerton Season 3 will follow the long-awaited romance between the ton’s perennial wallflower Penelope Featherington and her long-time crush Colin Bridgerton. The two have been friends for a while, much to Penelope’s delight and chagrin. At the end of Bridgerton Season 2, Penelope overheard Colin tell a group of gentlemen that he would never be caught dead courting her…which immediately shattered her heart. Adding to the drama is the fact that Pen’s best friend Eloise (Claudia Jessie) figured out that she was Lady Whistledown, sparking a rift between the two.

Bridgerton Season 3 will follow Penelope as she commits herself to the marriage mart. Fed up with her Featherington connections, Pen is determined to find a husband. Colin offers his support and, as Coughlan joked during the panel, that doesn’t cause any drama at all. The panel also revealed that her foremost suitor will be the dashing Lord Debling (Sam Phillips). “Or Debbers as we like to call him,” Coughlan joked.

New Bridgerton Season 3 photos also revealed Eloise is certainly still out in society (despite her rough first year out), and seemingly joined by sister Francesca (Hannah Dodd). Fans got new glimpses of the Mondrich family, Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), and the Bridgerton brothers hanging out on the town. Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict Bridgerton, revealed that his character has put painting on hold at the start of Bridgerton Season 3 and had successfully taken over some of Anthony’s (Jonathan Bailey) duties as elder brother. He described his character as “lonely” and teased maybe some new developments for the character… (Can we expect a Benedict romance in Season 4???)

The exclusive clip Netflix shared with fans at the event saw a tense confrontation between Colin and Penelope. Colin tells Pen that he missed her replies to his letters over the summer. Penelope, in turn, reveals that he hurt her feelings when she overheard his snide comments about never courting her at the end of Season 2. (Hopefully Colin can get it together to get this romance off the ground!!)

As if that wasn’t enough, Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell ran through the Season 3 titles for fans. Here are the titles for all eight episodes in Bridgerton Season 3. Fans of Julia Quinn’s books will definitely recognize some phrases as Easter Eggs:

  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 1 “Out of the Shadows”
  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 2 “How Bright the Moon”
  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 3 “Forces of Nature”
  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 4 “Old Friends”
  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 5 “Tick Tock”
  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 6 “Romancing Mister Bridgerton”
  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 7 “Joining of Hands”
  • Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 8 “Into the Light”

Please note that Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell joked that Episode 5’s title was “Tick Tock” like a clock, and not like TikTok dances (which she jested only happens behind-the-scenes on the Bridgerton set).

Netflix also revealed that they are thanking fans with a Bridgerton-themed wedding for one lucky couple.

Bridgerton Season 3 has been split into two parts. Bridgerton Season 3 Part One will premiere on Netflix on May 16. It encompasses the first four episodes of the season.

The final four episodes of Bridgerton Season 3 will premiere as Bridgerton Season 3 Part Two will premiere on June 13.
