‘Only Murders In The Building’ Adds Molly Shannon To Their Roster For Season 4

Following the star-studded third installment of Only Murders in the Building last August, Hulu‘s murder mystery dramedy has revealed an addition to its Season 4 cast.

Molly Shannon is joining stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez in a new role, per Deadline.

While Season 4 of OMITB was announced shortly after Season 3 ended in October, few details have been disclosed about what we can expect to see next. However, Craig Erwich, the President of Disney Television Group, recently verified a change of scenery in the upcoming season, telling Deadline that the crime-solving trio will “take a little break from the apartment building and come to Los Angeles” in Season 4 before heading back to the Arconia.

The show also made its broadcast debut by airing the entirety of Season 1 on ABC last month.

As for the return of Meryl Streep — whose character Loretta Durkin sparked an on-screen romance with Short’s Oliver Putnam in Season 3 (and even sparked since-debunked rumors of an off-screen romance) — Erwich said that he didn’t “have anything to share,” but commended her for giving what he thought was “one of the best television performances of the year last year.”

Molly Shannon is an actress and comedian best known as a Saturday Night Live alum and legend. She recently starred in I Love That For You on Showtime, and also appeared in The Other Two and A Good Person. She has made countless cameos on popular television shows such as Seinfeld, Sex and the City, 30 Rock and The White Lotus, and worked on notable films like Never Been Kissed, Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas and the Hotel Transylvania franchise.

According to Variety, Shannon’s character is “a high powered LA business woman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in New York.” The name of her character has yet to be revealed.
