Amy Schumer‘s comedy series Life & Beth pulled off the ultimate cameo in the second season.

Like its predecessor, the new season welcomes a few guest stars, including Emmy winner Jennifer Coolidge, who has been having a renaissance since her iconic appearance on The White Lotus.

Life & Beth follows the titular character, played by Schumer, as she navigates the highs and lows of adulthood. Beth suddenly loses her mother in the first season and returns to her hometown where she falls in love with a farmer named John (Michael Cera).

Season 2, which premiered in full on Feb. 16, 2024 on Hulu, sees the two getting swept up in romance and jetting to New Orleans for a last-minute destination wedding.

Coolidge appears in Episode 3, “Nothing Can Get Me Down,” as a New Orleans psychic who Beth visits shortly after marrying John.

Talking about the exciting cameo, Schumer told Decider over a Zoom call, “Jen and I got to work together years ago on my sketch show. We did a Toddlers and Tiaras thing where she was my stage mom, and we had a blast.”

Schumer revealed that she’s close friends with Coolidge in real life, and they’ve spend a lot of time together in New Orleans, where their shared scene takes place. “It seemed like a long shot that she’d be able to do it, but yeah, she wanted to come play,” she said.

Additional guest appearances in the season include Beanie Feldstein, Amy Sedaris, Tim Meadows, Colin Quinn, Margaret Cho, Jemima Kirke, and more.

According to Schumer, Coolidge wasn’t originally supposed to play the psychic role. Due to scheduling issues, Coolidge had to switch roles with Sedaris, who appears in the season as Beth’s wedding planner and joins Beth on her visit to the psychic. “Thank god they both played [the roles] so perfectly,” Schumer said.

Praising Coolidge’s talents, Schumer described the hilarity she brought to the set. “With Jen, I was begging our camera operators to take me out of the shot because I was crying laughing,” she said. “It was preposterous! Try just looking at her in that wig. You can’t look at her.”

Life & Beth Season 2 is streaming on Hulu.
