Jane the Virgin star Jaime Camil has joined the cast of NBC‘s Lopez vs. Lopez for Season 2.

Camil will assume a recurring role as Josué Consuelos, a charming personal injury attorney who appears on several billboards in Los Angeles.

According to Deadline, Josué wins favor with Rosie (Selenis Leyva) by playing her romantic baladas on his Spanish guitar, which of course makes George (George Lopez) jealous.

Lopez vs. Lopez is co-created by George Lopez and his daughter Mayan Lopez, who both star in the series as an old-school Latino and his Gen Z daughter. The working-class family sitcom touches on everything from dysfunction to reuniting with loved ones.

Debby Wolfe also co-created the series, which also stars Brice Gonzalez, Matt Shively, and Al Madrigal.

Wolfe and George Lopez executive produce with Bruce Helford, Michael Rotenberg, and Katie Newman. Universal Television produces the series in association with Mohawk Productions, Travieso Productions, Mi Vida Loba, and 3 Arts.

Camil was most recently seen on television as the host of the CBS game show Loteria Loca and will next appear in Season 3 of Acapulco on Apple TV+. He also starred in two seasons of Apple TV+’s Schmigadoon! musical comedy series.

While he was already a major star in Mexico, Camil gained popularity in the U.S. as a series regular in The CW‘s Jane the Virgin, in which he played Rogelio de la Vega.

He also starred in and executive produced the CBS comedy series, Broke. He also recently portrayed the titular character in Netflix’s El Rey, Vicente Fernandez.

Season 2 of Lopez vs. Lopez is set to premiere with back-to-back episodes at 8 and 8:30pm on Tuesday, April 2. It will continue in those timeslots going forward.
