This morning’s installment of Good Morning America featured an update from Michael Strahan about his daughter Isabella and her fight against medulloblastoma.

The co-anchor opened up about Isabella beginning chemotherapy this month and showcased clips from her recent vlogs, noting that “she bravely documented her journey on YouTube in hopes of helping other people with the same diagnosis feel supported and to know that they are not alone.”

“She’s fighting through it,” he explained. “The last three days have been a little rough because she had a fever that kind of comes and goes.”

According to Strahan, he took her to the hospital and was under the impression that “she’d come home a few hours later.” However, he said it’s been “three days.”

“But hopefully she’ll be home today,” he added.

As for how he’s doing, Strahan said he’s “good,” crediting the support of his co-workers and others who have reached out and sent their love.

“I don’t think anything’s happened that we haven’t expected,” he shared. “Nothing’s happened that she hasn’t expected. It is tough to see her go through it, but I know she’s a tough young lady and she’s gonna make it through.”

According to Cleveland Clinic, medulloblastoma is a “cancerous brain tumor” that, while rare, is “more common in children than adults,” making it the “most common type of brain cancer among children.”

Following her diagnosis last fall, Isabella had emergency surgery to remove the “fast-growing, four-centimeter tumor,” which she recalled to Robin Roberts in a GMA interview last month alongside her father. This was followed by rehab and radiation, per GMA.

She recently celebrated the end of her radiation treatment in a heartfelt YouTube vlog that was shared last month, telling viewers that it had “been a long six weeks.” In her most recent vlog, titled “Vlog 8: Recovering from Chemo at home,” she shared that “everything hurts,” citing pain in her head, heart, eyes, and mouth, per E! News.
