The Bachelor‘s Golden Era has just begun.

First The Golden Bachelor restored Bachelor Nation’s faith in late-in-life love. Then ABC announced the highly-anticipated spinoff, The Golden Bachelorette, is coming this fall. And since the franchise will finally have enough contestants, The Golden Bachelor in Paradise is officially on the table.

With such lovable Golden Bachelor alum and a cast of senior Golden Bachelorette studs soon to come, Decider asked executive producers Bennett Graebner, Jason Ehrlich, and Claire Freeland if they’d ever consider a senior Bachelor in Paradise spinoff.

“We would all love to see what that looks like,” Ehrlich told Decider in an interview at the 2024 Television Critics Association’s winter press tour.

“There are so many deserving women,” Freeland added, referencing The Golden Bachelor cast. “When we think about what other opportunities are there for these women who have connected so much with the audience, and who have just so much more story to tell, it’s very exciting to think what the possibilities could be — whether it’s Paradise or something else.”

As Bachelor in Paradise approaches its 10th season, rumors of the show’s uncertain future are being spread by none other than Chris Harrison. Per UsWeekly, the former franchise host said, “I was a little bummed to hear that Paradise has allegedly been postponed. I think [that] is the official way they’re saying it. They’re postponing it for a year or canceling it.”

When Decider asked producers to confirm/deny those rumors — or share any updates on the tropical spin-off — Freeland said, “That’s a question for the network and the studio. We’re still in post-production on Joey, casting for Bachelorette, casting for Golden Bachelorette.”

Back in December 2023, after extended storylines on toe-suckinga contestant’s constipation, and relationship hopping overshadowed potential Paradise love stories, Decider called for an end to the series in favor of The Golden Bachelorette. As noted in our previous piece, Paradise was once a beloved low-stakes filler show cherished for its petty drama, goofiness, and hot hookups. Once fans got a taste of The Golden Bachelor‘s heartwarming, more wholesome foundation, however, traveling back to the beach began to feel like emotional whiplash.

Paradise has been losing viewers for years, but after the latest season produced zero lasting romances, it felt as though the series may have finally lost its luster. With The Golden Bachelorette on the horizon, perhaps the franchise just found its golden opportunity to revive Paradise.

I don’t think we should send a bunch of seniors to a sweltering hot beach in Mexico for several weeks, but some sort of Golden mixer that gives Golden Bachelorette gents and Golden Bachelor icons like April Kirkwood, Susan Noles, Natascha Hardee, Joan Vassos, Sandra Mason, and beyond yet another opportunity to find late-in-life love sounds nice, doesn’t it?
