Robin Wright Tells Drew Barrymore How Tom Hanks Made Her Pee Her Pants While Filming ‘Forrest Gump’

Tom Hanks is a “funny” guy, according to his Forrest Gump co-star Robin Wright. On this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress revealed how he made her laugh so hard that she “peed” in her costume while making the iconic film.

Wright made several revelations to host Drew Barrymore about her time playing Jenny in Forrest Gump, including the fact that the water she ran through at the National Mall was “really dirty.”

According to Wright, she also didn’t get to spend too much time with Hanks outside of filming their scenes.

“We never really got to hang out because I had just had my second child and during lunch normally — you know, actors they usually go and hang out with each other, you’re in the tent,” she explained. “Tom was never anywhere to be seen because he was out with the second unit camera running, doing all the running sequences during lunch break.”

Despite this, she remembered Hanks as being a “hysterically funny” person to work with.

“We were shooting in the plantation house where his mama lived,” she recalled. “She passes away and we go back to the house and we’re about to get married.”

She continued, “[Director Robert Zemeckis] says, ‘I want you guys to just dance. It’s New Year’s Eve. You’re alone in this house. You and Forrest just go do a dance. Cameras are gonna be outside the house, looking through the window. We’re not even gonna come in and get coverage.'”

That was when Hanks sent Wright into hysterics.

“I go, ‘Tom, how is Forrest gonna dance? Can you just show me a little bit?’And he did Forrest dancing,” she said. “He’s like, ‘What do you think of this?’ And he gave me a little example. I laughed so hard I peed in my costume.”

And that’s all she had to say about that.
