Andy Cohen got Ashley Tisdale to answer the one question that’s been bopping to the top of everyone’s mind: is she still friends with her High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens?

On Tuesday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, the Bravo boss grilled Tisdale on her current friendship status with Hudgens — and, unfortunately, the answer might disappoint you.

“I haven’t seen her in a long time,” Tisdale admitted. “I think we’re just — obviously, she’s working, I’m working. I have a daughter so it’s like, you know, she’s a full-time job.”

Tisdale and Hudgens were everyone’s favorite dynamic duo from the mid to late 2000s. Their friendship lasted well beyond their High School Musical days, with Hudgens serving as a bridesmaid in Tisdale’s 2014 wedding with Christopher French. The Princess Switch star also met Tisdale’s daughter Jupiter shortly after she was born in 2021, and even scored the nickname “Aunt Nessa,” per People.

However, the internet has been buzzing about where these once-close BFFs stand these days after Tisdale was noticeably absent from Hudgens’ December 2023 wedding to baseball player Cole Tucker.

Many speculated it had something to do with the Suite Life of Zack and Cody star’s close friendship with Austin Butler, who dated Hudgens for more than eight years before they broke up in 2020.

Tisdale first met Butler when they starred in the 2011 High School Musical spinoff Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure. The two have remained tight ever since, despite his breakup with Hudgens. In fact, Tisdale even gushed over the actor’s recent success — and offered some insight into his permanent Elvis Presley voice — on WWHL.

“I definitely knew he was destined for what he’s doing now,” she said. “I think the Elvis voice — it was really hard for him because he was stuck in Australia doing Elvis for two years and it’s probably really hard to go from that to talking normal. He went into a deep dive when he had the time off.”

She added, “But he is such a cutey and he’s so amazing and so talented.”

Here’s hoping Hudgens and Tisdale can reunite again soon. After all, once a wildcat, always a wildcat!
