Drake Bell Alleges He Was Abused By Nickelodeon Dialogue Coach In Explosive New Documentary ‘Quiet On Set’

Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell is coming forward with claims he was sexually abused as a child actor in the new Investigation Discovery documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.

Bell appears in a newly released teaser for the four-part documentary, which will include allegations that Bell suffered abuse at the hands of Brian Peck, a dialogue coach who worked on All That and The Amanda Show, which Bell worked on from 1999 to 2002.

According to Business Insider, Peck was sentenced to 16 months in prison after he pleaded no contest to performing a lewd act with a minor and to oral copulation with a minor in 2004. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

This marks Bell’s first time coming forward with the accusations against Peck. Bell made headlines in 2021 when he was convicted of child endangerment for an alleged relationship with an underage fan.

Per an ID press release obtained by Deadline, Bell “will be sharing publicly, for the first time, the story of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Brian Peck, his former dialogue coach who was convicted in 2004 for his crimes against Drake and ordered to register as a sex offender.”

Boy Meets World actors Will Friedle and Rider Strong recently opened up on their podcast about their time working with Peck, who they say ingratiated himself into their lives when they were teenagers.

Friedle recalled that Peck called him in tears after the allegations of child sexual abuse came out, claiming that he was a “victim of jailbait.”

“He didn’t say that nothing had happened,” Strong explained. “So by the time we heard about this case and knew anything about it, it was always in the context of, ‘I did this thing, I am guilty. I am going to take whatever punishment the government determines, but I’m a victim of jailbait. There was this hot guy! I just did this thing and he’s underage.’ And we bought that storyline.”

The actors shared that they wrote letters defending his character and attended court with him to show their support.

“We’re sitting in that courtroom on the wrong side of everything,” Friedle recalled. “The victim’s mother turned and said, ‘Look at all the famous people you brought with you. And it doesn’t change what you did to my kid.’”

He added, “I just sat there wanting to die. It was like, ‘What the hell am I doing here?’ It was horrifying all the way around.”

A previous trailer for the four-part docuseries shows a number of Nickelodeon stars — including All That actress Giovonnie Samuels and Zoey 101 actress Alexa Nikolas — talking about their time working with controversial creator Dan Schneider and Nickelodeon.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV premieres on ID on Sunday, March 17 and Monday, March 18 at 9/8c. Scroll up to watch the new trailer.
