Wonka (2023)

Powered by Reelgood

About three months after debuting in theaters, Wonka will be available to stream on Max in just a few hours.

The new movie musical is a prequel to both films based on Roald Dahl’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — 1971’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The third actor to take on the role of the famed chocolatier, following in the footsteps of Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp, is none other than Timothée Chalamet.

The new movie follows the titular young inventor as he arrives in a new city determined to make a name for himself, only to find that the confectionary scene is run by a greedy cartel of chocolatiers.

Newcomer Calah Lane stars as Wonka’s sidekick, Noodle, and the rest of the ensemble cast includes Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant.
