The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin premiered on Apple TV+ last week and introduced viewers to the imaginative world of Noel Fielding. The Great British Baking Show host created the show with British comedy producing powerhouse Kenton Allen to bring silly, family-friendly comedy back to television. The show follows, as you’d expect, the times and trials of legendary 18th century British highwayman Dick Turpin. However, as the title suggests, nothing about this zany version of the real historic criminal’s tale is true. It’s all ridiculous, hysterical fun. And Noel Fielding and Kenton Allen told Decider at Winter 2024 TCA that they hope to keep The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin going far beyond the first season’s six episodes.

“Yeah, we are talking about it,” Kenton Allen said. “Yeah, we’re having lots of ideas. We’re focused on launching the show.”

“But we had too many episodes anyway last time,” Noel Fielding said, suggesting there may already be full scripts written for more Dick Turpin. “There’s always a few extras kicking around and a few things that we like to have tried. We’re basically ready to go.”

Of course, Noel Fielding and Kenton Allen might be rearing to go on The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin Season 2, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen. According to the two executive producers, it all depends on the show’s reception.

“If the audience want it, I’m sure Apple will provide it,” Allen said.

Allen also explained that although The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin is a British production, this isn’t a situation where a British broadcaster like ITV or the BBC has to co-sign on the second season. The show was made “purely at Apple’s request.” (So we’re not looking at another potential Sanditon situation.)

So if you’re loving Dick Turpin and his hilarious humor, the Essex Gang, the magical heists, and the insanity of Little Karen, keep in mind that The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin could one hundred percent keep going. It all depends on how many people also wind up falling in love with it.
