The Gentlemen sure is one helluva Netflix binge, innit? It’s almost eight hours of shotguns, suits, sharp dialogue, and an even sharper machete. The world of The Gentlemen, first introduced in the Guy Ritchie 2019 film of the same name, is a dense one. Not since Game of Thrones have this many UK actors been packed into one sprawling epic!

But the thing with epics like The Gentlemen? You just can’t stop watching. The season whips by like a rollercoaster, the kind that you immediately get back in line to ride again. So, when will you be able to hang out with Eddie, Susie, and their troublemaking families? Here’s what we know so far!

Will there be a The Gentlemen Season 2 on Netflix?

There’s no word from Netflix yet as to whether we’ll get more romps with the Horniman family, but that’s normal for a Netflix show. The streamer usually waits a bit before renewing a show for Season 2, so don’t get too worried about The Gentlemen’s fate yet.

The good news is, the brains behind The Gentlemen seem to agree that yes, there should be a second season. That seems pretty obvious when you consider how Season 1 ended with an entirely new status quo and some potentially fascinating character dynamics. And in an interview with Deadline, Miramax’s Head of Worldwide Television Marc Helwig said, “Guy had originally conceptualized [The Gentlemen] as a television series and then [former Miramax CEO] Bill Block decided to go make a movie. So there was a proof of concept that was baked in there.”

While Netflix hasn’t given the series the go-ahead for more, casual talks are happening between Guy Ritchie and the folks at Miramax, at least. “We have started that process,” said Helwig. “There are some writers we’ve talked to, certainly lots of discussion with Guy about what he might want to do in a second season, what things to focus on.” We got a hint of what Season 2 could look like in the finale episode, wherein — SPOILERS — Eddie and Susie take over the weed business from Bobby Glass, and Bobby ends up sharing a luxury prison suite with none other than his former rival Stanley Johnston.

If fans want to see a Gentlemen Season 2, Helwig noted that the first season “has to perform, and then we’ll know more.” So far The Gentlemen has been performing, at least judging by the Netflix Top 10 where the show sits at the top spot as of this writing.

We will update this article if and when Netflix provides an update on the future of The Gentlemen.
