Meghan McCain gave her professional opinion on the Oscars during a recent episode of her podcast Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat, in which she continued railing against poor Bradley Cooper and late night television hosts.

In this week’s episode, the former View host criticized Jimmy Kimmel for cracking jokes about Donald Trump at the Oscars. McCain claimed that seeing all of Hollywood applaud Kimmel’s criticisms of the former POTUS would only radicalize his followers ahead of the upcoming election.

“I don’t understand how people don’t understand at this point, like, Jimmy Kimmel, you’re helping Trump get elected. Every time you give him attention, you turn him into this bad guy, and then the whole room is clapping and applauding,” she said.

Her rant continued, “I saw Annette Bening laughing and clapping, I’m like, keep clapping, everybody, keep doing it, you’re getting him re-elected. It’s nothing more that’s better for his base than having a room full of Hollywood people clap at him being in jail.”

McCain is referencing the moment Kimmel shared a post Trump had made on Truth Social while he was hosting the Oscars.

“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” the post read. “His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be.”

Kimmel fired back, “Well, thank you President Trump. Thank you for watching, I’m surprised you’re still – isn’t it past your jail time?” The joke elicited applause from the star-studded audience.

The late night host is not one to shy away from criticizing the former POTUS. Prior to hosting the Oscars, he admitted during an appearance on CNN, “One of the most fun parts of my job is knowing that he hates being made fun of and making fun of him.”

Kimmel added, “And then, every once in a while, he reminds us that he hates it and he gets mad. So, I love that. I take some pleasure in it.”

But Kimmel admitted that he was initially told not to read Trump’s social media post.

“They’re like, ‘You’ve got a little bit of time’ and I was like, ‘I’m reading the Trump tweet,’ and they’re like, ‘No, no, don’t read that,’” Kimmel said during a post-Oscars appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark. “[I was like] ‘Yes, I am.’”

Kimmel also gave Robert De Niro free reign to rant against Trump when the actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday evening. De Niro’s comments were almost completely bleeped out, earning applause from the live audience.
