Mauricio Umansky has been opening up about his split from Real Housewives star Kyle Richards, amongst other serious drama their family has faced, on his new Netflix show Buying Beverly Hills instead of RHOBH, which he has starred on since it premiered in 2010.

Umansky’s decision has Bravo fans wondering if it could be causing a rift with Bravo boss Andy Cohen, but he says that’s not the case. Cohen cleared the air during a recent episode of his SiriusXM show Radio Andy.

“A lot of what he’s revealing is his story to tell and what Kyle is revealing on [RHOBH] is her side of the story,” he said. “So people think Bravo should be furious.”

Netflix has been sharing exclusive clips from Buying Beverly Hills to promote the series ahead of its Season 2 premiere on March 22.

One emotional clip showed Umansky breaking the news of the separation to their daughters, with the real estate mogul even going so far as to detail the entire conversation he had with Richards when she asked for a separation. This clip technically beat RHOBH to the punch in terms of dishing on their highly publicized separation.

Cohen also addressed Umansky’s decision to open up about his drama with his in-laws, the Hiltons. He previously worked with his brother-in-law Rick Hilton, but he revealed in a new clip from Buying Beverly Hills Season 2 that he decided to leave Hilton & Hyland when they did not make him a partner.

Though the rift was discussed on RHOBH over the years, Cohen surmised that Richards likely didn’t want to talk to about it because it involved her family.

“[Kyle] didn’t want to further complicate an already complicated relationship with her sisters,” he said.

He added that he did ask Richards and her sister Kathy Hilton about the family drama during the RHOBH Season 13 Reunion, which premieres Wednesday, March 13.

The entire second season of Buying Beverly Hills premieres on Netflix March 22.

But if you want a glimpse of the drama, tune into the final part of the RHOBH reunion this Wednesday (March 13) at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
