For a new Survivor castaway, it’s hard to stand out in a cast of 18 players. You need to be gregarious, an instant challenge beast, or a total disaster. Or, if you’re Nami tribe member Liz Wilcox, you can stand out by sharing a little about your pre-Survivor life. Okay, a lot about your pre-Survivor life, like the fact that you’ve already launched and sold two businesses and are currently rocking your third. Is it wise to talk about how financially successful you are in a competition for $1,000,000 where your tribe-mates can easily vote you out? Sure doesn’t seem like it, but it’s still too early in Survivor 46 to tell.

Since Survivor has made Liz’s whole thing being a super successful entrepreneur, you’re probably wondering what exactly Liz does to make money. What is email marketing? And what are those two businesses that Liz has already sold off? Here’s everything you need to know about Liz Wilcox’s successful entrepreneurial career.

Everything we know about Liz Wilcox’s company

You can learn pretty much everything you need to know about Liz Wilcox’s company by going to her website. The site, cloaked in a ’90s Memphis-style pop culture sheen, is full of Wilcox’s personality and displays her passion not only for email marketing, but for teaching you all about email marketing. As the self-described Fresh Princess of Email, Wilcox follows a marketing methodology that she created called the Email Staircase. Her pride and joy is her email list, which boasts well over 10,000 people, and she believes in treating her followers as friends first and customers second.

What were the two businesses that Liz Wilcox previously founded?

Wilcox entered the online arena way back in 2016. As she told Niche Pursuits in August 2023, she grew up poor and learned how to hustle to make ends meet. She earned a master’s degree in leadership — an then started an RV travel blog.

“I had to work in the margins of life as a stay-at-home mom and get really good at listening when someone gave advice because I had no money to invest,” Wilcox told Shoutout Colorado in November 2022. “On top of driving to libraries and laundromats to get enough internet to send an email or publish a blog post…it was only my drive to make it work that kept things going.”

Her master’s in leadership came in handy, though, because during her years traveling the country in an RV with her husband and child, she became a bit of a thought leader in the RV community. She founded The Virtual Campground and, a few years later, sold it for $25,000.

Her second successful venture was Full-Time Freedom Week, a weeklong digital summit for RVers that hosts speakers from the RV community.

Liz Wilcox now works as an expert in the email marketing field, creating digital products designed to help small businesses get their email marketing off the ground. She has a membership program that costs $9 and gives subscribers access to her materials. Between that and her speaking engagements, Wilcox said in August 2023 that she makes roughly $20,000 a month. So… she really is playing Survivor for the experience — and it’s a good way to advertise that email list.
