‘Madame Web’ Comes to Digital, But When Will It Be Streaming on Netflix?

Where to Stream:

Madame Web

While you were busy researching spiders in the Amazon, Madame Web snuck onto digital platforms today.

That’s right: Sony is pushing Dakota Johnson’s much-mocked superhero flick onto video-on-demand just one month after it opened in theaters. Madame Web was a critical and box office flop—making less than $100 million globally—and became the subject of many an internet meme. But even if the movie had been a hit, a one-month theatrical run is the new norm for most major studios. Even the popular Jennifer Lawrence comedy from Sony, No Hard Feelings, was available to buy and rent online after one month in theaters.

Maybe all the people who joked about Madame Web will want to watch the movie now that it’s available on digital platforms. A joke sale is still a sale! But before you spend your coin, you should know that Madame Web will also likely be on Netflix in the future. (We know because we can see into the future. Like Madame Web.)

Here’s what to know about the Madame Web digital release, including where to watch Madame Web on streaming, and when Madame Web will be on Netflix.

How to watch Madame Web on streaming:

Beginning on Friday, March 15, Madame Web is now available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon PrimeGoogle PlayApple TVVudu, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the movie costs $19.99 to rent, and $24.99 to buy. Whether you’re willing to pay that much for an ironic viewing depends on your commitment to the bit.

The digital release of Madame Web comes with a host of bonus features, including a blooper reel, Easter Eggs, making-of segments, and a deleted scene. The Madame Web DVD release date has not yet been announced.

When will Madame Web be streaming on Netflix?

Madame Web will likely be on Netflix before the end of summer of 2024. Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. Other recent Sony movies, including The Pope’s Exorcist and  No Hard Feelings, came to Netflix about four months after opening in theaters. If Madame Web  follows a similar release strategy, you may see Madame Web on Netflix around June 2024.

In the meantime, you can watch Dakota Johnson connect us all by buying or renting the movie on digital platforms. Watch out for las arañas!
