Man Arrested For Lewd Sexual Behavior In Detroit Movie Theater During Kristen Stewart’s Lesbian Bodybuilder Flick ‘Love Lies Bleeding’

A man was arrested at MJR Southgate Cinema in suburban Detroit after allegedly engaging in lewd sexual behavior during a screening of the new Kristen Stewart movie Love Lies Bleeding.

According to Variety, the Southgate Police Department confirmed that a moviegoer was arrested after a Thursday night screening of the sexually charged film and remained in custody as of Friday morning. He has not yet been arraigned and no charges have been brought forth.

Love Lies Bleeding is a neo-noir-esque story about a female bodybuilder played by Katy M. O’Brian and her lesbian lover played by Stewart.

A manager at MJR Southgate also confirmed to Variety that an ongoing investigation into the incident was underway.

X (formerly Twitter) user @UglyXKorean posted a NSFW photo of a man asleep in a reclining movie theater chair with his penis exposed.

“Went to go see ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ and this drunk guy jacked himself off to sleep,” said the post. The man appeared to have his ticket plus two small bottles of liquor and a pack of cigarettes next to him on the table.

@UglyXKorean also posted a picture of police walking through the theater’s lobby.

In the replies, @UglyXKorean confirmed the theater location and, when asked what happened to the man, wrote that the police “arrested him. He was sitting in the back of the car when I left.”

Love Lies Bleeding received tons of attention after its debut at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It opened in theatres yesterday and Decider’s Jesse Hassenger says that in the film, “bodies will be both tested and desired – and the body we admire on someone else may be what we secretly desire from ourselves.”
