Ready for a sequel to the beloved ’90s comedy The Parent Trap? Lisa Ann Walter is, too!

Walter, who starred as Chessy alongside Lindsay Lohan in the 1998 remake, is hopeful she will work with the actress again soon.

At the 55th NAACP Image Awards on Sunday (March 17), Walter told People that she would “absolutely” revive her Parent Trap role in a second movie. “I would love to go back for another version of it,” she said.

The actress also teased a potential cameo appearance from Lohan on Abbott Elementary, the critically acclaimed sitcom Walter currently stars on as second-grade teacher Melissa Schemmenti.

“If [Lohan] wants to come on to our show, I’d love that, too,” she told People.

This isn’t the only time the actress has expressed excitement about collaborating with Lohan again. In an interview with Bustle at the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Walter and fellow Parent Trap co-star Elaine Hendrix said that they would “absolutely” act in a sequel together “in a heartbeat.”

Walter also spoke about a potential Parent Trap 2 in an interview with Parade in March 2023. She confirmed that “nobody has called yet” about a sequel, but revealed that if director Nancy Meyers “writes it and calls me,” she would be “100%” open to playing Chessy once more.

While a sequel to The Parent Trap hasn’t yet been confirmed, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Walter revealed that there would “certainly be a chance and opportunity” for a sequel and that there are probably “people there right now at Disney talking about it,” per Parade.

Lohan also recently revealed on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy that a sequel to another one of her iconic movies, Freaky Friday, is in the works.

Fans of the movie, and co-star Walter herself, hope The Parent Trap is next.
