Directed by Rowdy Herrington, this 1989 action flick was the definition of macho ’80s fun. Swayze plays a professional “cooler” named James Dalton, whose job is to break up bar fights at a rowdy club in Missouri. The film wasn’t exactly hit among critics at the time—it was nominated for several Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture—but it was a modest box office success, and found new life on cable over the last three decades. For Swayze fans, it’s become a classic, especially in the wake of the actor’s tragic death in 2009.

Star Jake Gyllenhaal has teamed up with director Doug Liman for a new spin on the classic movie, casting Gyllenhaal as a former UFC fighter hired as a bouncer at a bar in the Florida Keys. The best part? The new Road House—which will release on Amazon Prime on March 21— cast actual UFC champion Conor McGregor to play Gyllenhaal’s antagonist in the movie.
