Yet again, The View fell victim to the interruptions of technology on Thursday’s episode. The co-hosts were mid-chat this morning when a phone began blaring an alarm, disrupting their conversation about the pitfalls of TikTok’s stay-at-home girlfriend trend.

Whoopi Goldberg first introduced the topic, telling the panel, “some of them are posting warnings that when you break up with your boyfriend who’s supporting you, you can be left without a home, a job or money.”

She then asked, “Why did they think this was a good idea in the first place?”

Alyssa Farah Griffin began to weigh in, replying, “It makes no sense. You always need to have your own money as a woman. And by the way, also have your own interests and aspirations. Being—” but she didn’t get much further.

A phone alarm began to sound off next to her, and a surprised Griffin stopped mid-sentence, then immediately called out the culprit.

“Joy,” she said, turning to face co-host Joy Behar with mock disappointment.

Sunny Hostin then piled on, asking, “Joy, where do you have to be, where do you have to be, Joy?”

Behar, meanwhile, sat stone-faced at the table, refusing to engage, which only egged Hostin on more when she needled her, “Do you have to be somewhere?”

That got Behar to finally crack as she confirmed, “That’s what it was, a timer, a clock timer.”

When Hostin asked once more, “Do you have to be somewhere?” Behar hit back, “Yeah, I need to get a job.”

The panel loved her cheeky reply, especially Hostin, who roared with laugher at her co-host’s remark, while Goldberg was forced to put her forehead down on the table to recover. After all, if we can count on Behar for one thing, it’s always a funny one-liner.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
