This could be the Today ShowGolden Bachelor crossover we didn’t know we needed.

Former Today host Kathie Lee Gifford recently paid a visit to her old stomping grounds, where Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager suggested where her career could take her next: The Golden Bachelorette.

“We stand by the fact that we think you would be the best Golden Bachelorette of all time,” Bush Hager told Gifford.

Kotb agreed, saying, “Your storyline would be very good because, first of all, you’re not someone who would go sucking face with someone in a hot tub,” she began saying, as Gifford replied with a shrug.

“But can you imagine how good it would be?” Kotb continued. “I could picture Kath. You would hold all of these men at bay and make them romance you — sing me a song, write me a poem. You would bring romance back, and that’s what we need!”

“Earn me, baby!” Gifford chimed in.

Bush Hager agreed, adding, “You would make romance great again!”

Gifford did not seem entirely opposed to becoming the inaugural Golden Bachelorette. After Kotb and Bush Hager goaded her, she revealed that ABC hasn’t “offered” her the role, but they “have talked about it.”

“It would have to be completely different,” she told them, before playfully adding, “They’d have to make them much younger.”

Bush Hager joked this may not be The Golden Bachelorette after all, it may just be The Golden Cougar.

The Golden Bachelor recently completed its first-ever season with Gerry Turner. The highly anticipated series is expected to air this fall. ABC has already began casting for the new show, but it appears that the show does not have its leading lady cast just yet.

Gifford and Kotb co-hosted Today together before she left the network in 2019 to focus on her music and acting. She was replaced by Bush Hager, who had been with The Today Show since 2009.

Today with Hoda and Jenna airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
