Selena Gomez To Test Her Cooking Skills In Some Of LA’s Best Restaurants In New Food Network Series ‘Selena + Restaurant’

We hope you’re hungry! Following the success of Selena + Chef and its subsequent holiday counterpart Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays, Selena Gomez is continuing to cook in a brand new show.

In a press release shared Friday, Gomez and the Food Network announced her upcoming culinary venture, Selena + Restaurant, a series which will spotlight the actress as she enters the kitchens of some of Los Angeles’ most renowned chefs, where she’ll be taught and tested.

The six episodes will spotlight the following chefs and restaurants: Wolfgang Puck (Cut Steakhouse), Shirley Chung (Ms. Chi), Marcel Vigneron (Lemon Grove), Andrew and Michelle Muñoz (Moo’s Craft Barbecue), Stephanie Izard (Girl & the Goat), and Keith Corbin (Alta).

Alongside her best friend Raquelle Stevens, Gomez’s “ultimate goal” will be “creating a dish good enough to make each restaurant’s menu.” However, the show will also feature a philanthropic component.

“Each chef will also highlight a charity that is meaningful to them during each episode, with all of the featured non-profits receiving a donation to further their cause,” the press release reads.

Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros, highlighted that “Selena’s culinary journey has riveted viewers from day one as she has elevated her kitchen skills on her Emmy-nominated series, Selena + Chef.”

“Now, out of the comfort of her home kitchen, but with her best friend for support, Selena’s graduation to the big leagues offers a natural progression of her culinary education as this superstar shows what she can do in a restaurant environment,” she continued.

As for Gomez, she shared in a statement that “after cooking mostly virtually from [her] kitchen with some of the best chefs for the last four years, [she] was thrilled to step into their world.”

“You’ll have to see if being in person helped my skills at all,” she added.

Produced by Gomez for July Moon Productions, as well as executive producers Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman on behalf of Sony Pictures Television’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), showrunner Shauna Minoprio, and Melissa Stokes, Selena + Restaurant will be serving up its first two helpings on Thursday, May 2 at 7 and 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network, and will stream on Max, as well.
