Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka is honoring her late co-star Chance Perdomo, who died at 27 on Saturday (March 30) in a motorcycle accident.
On Tuesday (April 2), Shipka — who portrayed the titular role of Sabrina in the series, paid tribute to Perdomo on Instagram, lovingly calling the late star “Chancey Pants.”
“Oh man, this hurts,” she wrote. “He was a one of a kind soul. Just the most fiery, creative, loving, connected, and caring force you could possibly imagine… As playful as he was kind. As loving as he was hilarious.”
Shipka’s post featured a picture of Perdomo, two selfies of the two of them together, and a video she recorded while he gave her a piggyback ride, the last of which she highlighted in her touching caption.
“He never failed to make me laugh and he never failed to keep me on my toes (or off of them if he was giving me a piggyback ride to my trailer which he often did. Thanks Chance.),” she penned.
Noting that “his humanity was a generous gift to [her] and to so many people,” she added that it’s “really hard to picture this world without him in it.”
“I loved him with my whole heart. I always will,” she concluded.
Fellow Sabrina star Lucy Davis, who previously posted her own tribute to the late actor, commented, “I remember him piggy backing you everywhere!💔” Meanwhile Tyler Cotton, another series alum, also honored Perdomo on Instagram, and commented the following on Shipka’s post: “❤️❤️❤️.”
Perdomo’s “untimely passing” was confirmed in a statement from his publicist to Variety over the weekend, which noted that “no other individuals were involved.”
“His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest,” the statement reads. “We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”
Perdomo portrayed Sabrina’s cousin Ambrose Spellman in the Netflix series. He also starred as Andre Anderson in Gen V on Prime Video. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television also issued a statement in light of his death, urging fans to “hug your loved ones tonight.”
