Anna Paquin Shuts Down Hoda Kotb’s Questions About Her Health On ‘Today’ After She Was Spotted Walking With A Cane: “I’m Having A Good Day Today, Thank You”

Former True Blood star Anna Paquin visited Today With Hoda & Jenna on Friday (April 5), where she shut down Hoda Kotb‘s questions about the state of her health after she was recently seen walking with a cane.

Kotb gently broached the subject after Paquin was photographed with a cane at a recent screening of her film A Bit of Light, directed by Paquin’s husband, True Blood actor Stephen Moyer.

“You were on the red carpet yesterday and it was beautiful to see you,” Kotb said. “We noticed that you have next to you a cane with you, and we just want to make sure one everything’s OK.”

Though she did not elaborate on why she was using a cane, Paquin appeared to hint that she was experiencing some type of health condition.

“I’m having a good day today, thank you for asking,” she replied, before adding, “I’ll probably talk about that at some point.”

According to People, the actress said she has been going through a “difficult” time dealing with undisclosed medical issues. “It hasn’t been easy,” she said.

The outlet reports that Paquin has been experiencing mobility issues and some difficulties with speech.

Though the nature of her medical condition is still unclear, a source told People that the actress will hopefully make a full recovery.

On Today, Kotb swiftly lightened the mood by noting that Paquin had told Moyer, who was standing off-camera, that she loved him before the interview began.

“He’s got my back and I got his,” Paquin replied.
