Emmy award-winning comedian John Mulaney is returning to Netflix with a special live series titled John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s In L.A.

The six episode series, created by and starring Mulaney, will stream live during this year’s Netflix Is A Joke Festival. The first episode will debut on Netflix May 3 at 10/9c, and new episodes will stream live nightly from May 6 through May 10.

The “comically unconventional” show will follow Mulaney as he “explores the city of Los Angeles during a week when every funny person is in it,” per a Netflix press release.

The show is also expected to feature special guests and field pieces shot in Los Angeles.

While the special guests have yet to be revealed, a teaser released by Netflix today promised “people equal to, but not necessarily: Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and David Letterman.”

It’s likely other Netflix Is A Joke comedians will be featured. The fest, which runs from May 2 to 10, “will feature over 300+ live stand-up shows, special events, table reads, sketches, and more,” per Netflix. Some of the comedians in this year’s lineup include: Nicki Glaser, Nick Kroll, Kevin Hart, Matt Rife and Seth Rogen.

Mulaney will host, co-showrun and executive produce Everybody’s In L.A. along with Ashley Edens, who is co-showrunner and executive producer on the project. Dave Ferguson is credited as head writer.

Everybody’s In L.A. continues Mulaney’s partnership with Netflix, as the streaming service has produced his previous three stand-up specials: John Mulaney: Baby J (2023), The Comeback Kid (2015) and Kid Gorgeous (2018). Netflix also premiered the comedian’s children’s show John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch in 2019.

It’s also worth noting that Netflix is venturing back into live content with Everybody’s In L.A. after the very messy Love Is Blind reunion of 2023, during which the streamer crashed and the special was delayed by over an hour. Fingers crossed Mulaney’s project goes a bit more smoothly.
