The worlds of Wheel of Fortune and American Idol collided on Monday night (April 8) in what Ryan Seacrest deemed “the TV crossover you didn’t know you needed.” Vanna White stopped by her soon-to-be co-host’s turf on the most recent episode of Idol, where they even got a taste of co-hosting together.

“A national treasure, Vanna White, everyone,” Seacrest told the crowd in Disney’s Aulani, per Entertainment Tonight.

After the two were met with applause, Seacrest continued, “So I know you’ve been watching since the beginning of Idol. Are you enjoying tonight?”

White confirmed, telling Seacrest that she’s “so enjoying this.”

“There’s so many talented people here,” she said. “I cannot believe it. It’s so much fun!”

Seacrest once again shared his praise for the famous letter turner, telling her that he’s “so excited to get to work with [her].”

“And I thought maybe we could work together right now,” he proposed, requesting White’s assistance with the “next finalist introduction.”

White enthusiastically obliged, and she and Seacrest — with the help of four letter turners from the audience — introduced Ajii in classic Wheel of Fortune fashion.

Seacrest was revealed as Pat Sajak‘s successor on Wheel in June 2023, about two weeks after Sajak announced his departure. While speaking with People in September, Seacrest assured fans that he won’t mess with what Sajak has created, noting that the show is “such a success and has been for generations.”

“You don’t mess with it, just don’t mess with it,” he explained. “Just get out of the way, say ‘Good evening’ and let’s play.”

He reiterated this sentiment in an a recent interview with the outlet, claiming that “no one can ever do what Pat has done.”

“He is incredible,” he added. “He has made that show just something so very special for so long, and he has done such a seamless, remarkable job, so no one can be him.”

Sajak’s final show has been taped and is slated to air June 7. In the meantime, Seacrest, a self-proclaimed “fan of the show,” may be practicing his hosting in his living room, which he teased during a Sept. 18 Good Morning America appearance.

“I’m shouting out the puzzles and my dog is staring at me,” he said.

American Idol airs Sunday and Monday nights at 8/7c on ABC. Next-day streaming is available on Hulu. Wheel of Fortune airs on weeknights at 7:30/6:30c. Check out their website for your local listings.
