Marisa Abela stars as Amy Winehouse in the highly anticipated (for better or worse) biopic Back to Black, which is set to following the late singer’s life from her days as a North London jazz musician to her global success with songs like “Rehab” and “Valerie.” Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this movie!

Back to Black hasn’t even come out yet, but it’s already caused a bit of controversy. Most recently, the film came under fire for Abela’s impersonation of Winehouse’s singing voice, with the official TikTok page turning off comments on the clip.

Where can you watch Back to Black? Is it on Netflix? What about Max?

**WHERE TO WATCH BACK TO BLACK:**

UPDATE 6/5/24: Back to Black became available to buy for $24.99 or rent for $19.99 on digital platforms on June 4.

As of now, the only way you can watch Back to Black is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, May 17. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon, or becomes available to stream on Peacock. WHEN WILL BACK TO BLACK COME TO STREAMING? WILL BACK TO BLACK BE ON PEACOCK?

Yes, Back to Black will eventually come to Peacock. While the platform hasn’t announced an official streaming release date just yet, we can make a guess based on another recent Focus Features film.

Drive-Away Dolls, which debuted in theaters on Feb. 23, began streaming on Peacock on April 12 — about 45 days after its theatrical release. If Back to Black follows the same trajectory, it could become available on the streamer by late June or early July 2024.

No, Back to Black will not be on Max — previously known as HBO Max — since it’s not a Warner Bros. Discovery movie.

WILL BACK TO BLACK BE ON NETFLIX?

No, Back to Black will not be streaming on Netflix, at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a theater or wait for it to become available on Peacock.
