Summer House Season 8 has been delivering fun in the sun, killer theme parties and delicious drama from the very first episode. Luckily, we’re only half-way through. Even though the impending end of Lindsay Hubbard‘s and Carl Radke‘s engagement looms large, the other housemates are not letting the bad vibes dampen their summer. From unlucky in love Ciara Miller‘s budding romance with charming newbie West Wilson to fan favorite Paige DeSorbo‘s finally claiming the primary bedroom to the immediate height-off between Radke and fellow tall king Jesse Solomon, there has been a lot of levity this season. However, Summer House wouldn’t be one of Bravo’s most beloved shows without a lot of drama.

The mid-season trailer—which you can watch here—highlights some of the intense dynamics underlying the good cheer. Married couple Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula continue to have tough conversations on-camera regarding their successful company, Loverboy, which Cooke owns. In the trailer, Batula levels with Cooke: “I’ve been supporting you and your business for five years; it’s time that I find something that gives me drive.” “But I also need your help,” Cooke pleads as Batula looks on in frustration.

Elsewhere in the trailer, DeSorbo grills Wilson about his intentions with her best friend Miller. During a boat outing, she asks him directly: “You’re not sleeping with other girls?” As Wilson stammers out a weak response, DeSorbo cuts him off. “Friends may say ‘oh, I’ll fucking kill you if you hurt her,’ but I genuinely will.” DeSorbo in turn has her own relationship with Southern Charm star Craig Conover questioned by cast mate Danielle Olivera. In a crowded bar, Olivera calls out DeSorbo for being wishy-washy about a potential engagement. “I’m going to keep it real with you. I think you’re giving him nothing,” Olivera tells a shocked DeSorbo.

The trailer ends with a montage of fights between Hubbard and Radke still to come. While dressed in Mad Max type costumes for an undisclosed theme party, Radke accuses Hubbard of “being the victim always.” “It’s a lot, okay,” Radke snaps at his then-fiancée. “It’s a fucking lot!” To her credit, Hubbard responds calmly, “You are asking me to be someone I am not.” The final shots of the trailer end with glimpses of Hubbard’s bridal shower that fans know occurred two weeks prior to Radke ending their relationship. Later, we see Cooke and Radke at a restaurant. A concerned Cooke, after telling Radke to be honest, asks: “Do you want to marry her?” We all know the answer to that question. Make sure to tune into Summer House every Thursday at 9/8c to watch how the rest of the season unfolds.
